How do you know whether your business is going to succeed? There are many times where you may never get a response from customers or clients at all. At times, measuring the impact of your business (particularly in the first year of business), can be tricky to gage. Then there are other instances where you receive lots of feedback and positive responses, and undoubtedly, this feels great!
So, what tells you whether or not your business will succeed?
Businesses often focus too much on growth rather than on profitability. Growth is fine, but you should always be looking to increase your profits. If you’re growing without increasing revenue, then you’re likely headed towards a bump in the revenue road.
There are two main ways to ensure profitability.
The first is to reduce losses. This means reducing costs, improving efficiency, and cutting out unnecessary expenses. The second way is to increase revenue. To boost sales, you need to create great content, offer compelling value, and sell quality products and services whenever possible.
So, how do you really know that success has your name on it?
You feel it in your bones: You know it's coming. You feel it in the air. You sense it in the ground. Your body knows what you're going to do before you even think about it. And you don't have to wait until the end of the month to start feeling it. There is nothing like business butterflies when it comes to your purpose.
You get excited about the future: When you're looking forward to something, you're already thinking about how good it's going to be. When you're anticipating success, you're already planning ahead.
You make decisions based on facts, not emotions: If you want to succeed, you need to stop making decisions based on emotions and second guessing your intuition. Emotions cloud your judgment. If you're having trouble deciding whether to go left or right, ask yourself if you'd rather be wrong or right.
You take action: Successful people don't sit around waiting for things to happen. Instead, they take action. They act first and lessen procrastination time.
You focus on the present moment: It doesn't matter where you've been or what you've done. What matters is where you're going and what you're doing now.
You believe in yourself: You know who you are and what you're capable of. You believe in yourself enough to keep trying and never give up. You know the power of your brand and the radius that your message can span. You may have doubts, but your ambition is greater than the voice inside yourself saying, "is this all worth it?" My answer to you is a big, loud "YES!"
You surround yourself with positive people: The people you spend time with influence you. So, choose wisely. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, encourage you, and help you reach your goals. Ultimately, we attract what we want. When we find our tribe, and cheerleading squad, almost anything is possible.
